Sometimes it is easy to skip out on building the main character in a game likeWuthering Waves. Most of the time, it is not worth the trouble since there are better characters available. However, Rover is really quite amazing once you unlock their second form via the end of the 1.0 main story quests. Rover’s Havoc variation is amazing and will have many options for making them deal massive damage. There are a ton of weapon options, team compositions, and there is even an echo in the game that was tailored to Rover’s Havoc form. Here’s what you’ll want to have set up for Rover to make the most out of their new kit.
Wuthering Waves: Mortefi Build Guide
If you need some buffs, Mortefi is your guy.
Best Weapons to Use for Rover (Havoc)
Rover has quite a few really nice weapons to use to make their build well-rounded and almost all of them are going to be fairly easy to get when you are pulling for more characters or weapons on their banners. Another benefit you’ll get from using any of these is that they are also all viable options for Rover’s Spectro variation as well, so you won’t need to do any special tweaking if you switch forms or if you just don’t have the Havoc option yet.
The first and possibly the best weapon you can get for this new form for Rover is the 5-star weapon namedEmerald of Genesis. Emerald of Genesis willincreaseRover’sEnergy Regen by 12.8%, and once you use Rover’sResonance Skill, increase theirattack by 6%. This attack buff can bestackedup to2 timesand willlast for 10 seconds. This is going to be a very good choice for Rover in any form due to the solid Energy Regen and a nice buff to make Rover do some nice damage.

Wuthering Waves: Yinlin Build Guide
How to get started on building Yinlin into a heavy-hitting burst character.
Your next weapon option is going to be the 4-star weapon namedCommando of Conviction. The Commando of Conviction is going toincreaseRover’sattack by 15%when theIntro Skill is activatedand this effect willlast for 15 seconds. While this doesn’t offer anything game-changing, the damage buff is very nice to have on top of many other buffs you may receive from other characters with their outro skills.

Another possible weapon you may equip for Rover is the 4-star namedLumingloss. Lumingloss willincrease Basic Attack damageandHeavy Attack damageby20%when you use Rover’s Resonance Skill. This effect will last for10 secondsand can betriggered 1 time every second. This weapon is going to pair really well with Rover’s Havoc Resonance Skill as you’ll want to use it as often as you can and it will trigger the buff fairly often.
Best Echo and Buffs for Rover (Havoc)
When it comes to the echo buffs you’ll want to use for Rover’s Havoc damage, you’ll only want to use theSun-Sinking Eclipseset of buffs. Havingall 5 set upwill not onlyincreaseRover’sHavoc damage by 10%, but they will alsogainanother7.5% Havoc damage increasefrom usingBasicorHeavy attacksthat canstackup to4 timesfor15 seconds. This would be the most optimal way to get Rover’s damage output to be phenomenal. As usual, you’ll want the 4-cost primary echo paired with two 3-cost echoes and another two 1-cost echoes to max out Rover’s potential.
Now you’ll probably want to know what primary echoes you may use for Rover’s Havoc damage. The bright side is that it is going to be an easy choice, the downside is that you will need to do a little bit of hunting to get the right version of theDreamlessboss to get the right stats. You will want to aim for something to increase Rover’s overallCrit Damage,Crit Rate,Havoc Damage, orAttack. These will be ideal for not only doing more damage but will help a ton with the attacks that Dreamless can use while in a fight. Dreamless will allot Rover to deal several attacks at once as the echo to deal Havoc damage, but these attacks will also deal more damage after Rover’s Resonance Liberation has been used. All of these combined are just impossible to ignore when choosing echoes for Rover since Dreamless is basically tailored to be as amazing as possible for Rover.

Best Characters to use With Rover (Havoc)
If you are looking for a dps character to pair with Rover, you may want to consider teaming Rover’s Havoc damage variation withYinlin. She will do a ton of area of effect damage to enemies while also marking them with a debuff that will trigger on all marked enemies when they are hit. This works really well with Rover’s new kit and will help deal extra damage when using Rover’s Resonance Liberation and Dreamless Echo.
Another solid damage dealer to pair with Rover isDanjin. She is going to be a very different option compared to Yinlin since Danjin will use her own health to help deal extra damage. On top of Danjin’s good damage potential, you also have the option to equip another Dreamless Echo on Danjin. This will make it so that when you finish Rover’s rotation and end with the echo attack after using their Resonance Liberation, you may switch to Danjin and open with the echo to deal some extra damage from Rover’s Resonance Liberation. She is a really nice option for squeezing out some more damage with Danjin’s kit and synergy with Rover.

Wuthering Waves: Jianxin Build Guide
When in need of shields, Jianxin will deliver.
If damage-dealing pairs aren’t what you want with Rover, you’re able to also try outJianxin. Jianxin has quite a few different options on what you can use for echoes to buff the team while also using shields to protect everyone. She’s a solid choice for players looking to do some damage mitigation. She’s not going to be a heavy hitter, but she will do a good job at keeping characters in a fight without the worry of taking a ton of damage.
Finally, you might want to consider taking a healer just in case you need some quick healing. This is whereVerinaandBaizhiare going to come into play. Both are very similar in how their buffs work. The only difference is going to be that since Baizhi is a 4-star she can only provide buffs to the next character you switch her out for with her outro skill. Verina’s outro skill will buff the entire party, which is why she’s always going to be the preferred choice if you’ve got her. Either character here is going to work and both are going to have quick rotations to get some quick healing and switch them out for someone to deal damage.

This form for Rover is going to work really well with a ton of characters available inWuthering Waves. You can pair Rover in several different kinds of team compositions. If you want a heavy-damage composition you can pair Rover with another dps, or if you wish to play a little safer you can use a shield character. A healer is always going to be nice on the team so reserving the third slot for a healer will keep you from worrying about any damage enemies are going to toss your way.
