The recently released 7.2 patch forFinal Fantasy XIVis something the game has needed in the rather slow downtime between raid tiers. There has been a bit of a content draught as we wait for the more grindable content, such as Occult Crescent, theEurekaand Bozja Field Operation equivalent forDawntrail, which comes out in May. With this update, we have seen a strong amount of new and revamped content, one of which is the PvP series.

What is the Dazed Emote?

Like everything in Final Fantasy XIV, style is everything. Whether it’s customizing your character with an immense wardrobe at your back, or riding around on the various mounts, looking good in the MMORPG comes in many different flavors. One of them happens to be emotes. Emotes help express yourself, and there’s nothing better than messing around with friends or just idling in a town.

For the Dazed emote, it’s a new emote that has come with patch 7.2 that’s both visually striking, and almost comical. It features your character going into a dazed state (as the name implies) with baby Chocobos and stars floating around your head. Best yet, it’s an emote that loops infinitely, meaning you’re able to simply AFK someone and perform this emote and impress the masses.

Where to Obtain the Dazed Emote

The Dazed emote is one of the easier emotes to obtain, but it does require a little bit of grinding. This isn’t something you can simply buy off the marketboard or traded by another player, but instead you’ll have to put in a little effort and time to get it.

The Dazed emote is tied directly to the newPvP series(Series 8). The PvP series, for those not in the know, is essentially a Battle Pass-esque reward system in Final Fantasy XIV that you don’t have to pay for. There’s only one lane you can go down, and it rewards you with Trophy Crystals, Frame Kits, Emotes, Minions and Mounts. On the odd occasion, it will also reward special unique glamour outfits, but this isn’t tied to the eighth series.

Regardless, players will need to get to the fifth rank of theSeries Malmstones, with the further rewards coming at ranks 10, 15, 20 and 25. As we said, it will require a little bit of grinding, especially if you mean to go into the Crystalline Conflict PvP mode. But, if you have the tiniest bit of patience, you can reachrank 5within only three days if you queue and partake in the dailyFrontlines Duty Roulette. It only requires8,000 PvP EXP to get to rank 5, so just doing your dailies will get you there in no time.

Once you’ve reached the fifth rank, head into your PvP profile under the character menu and select “Series Malmstones”. You will need to accept all the previous rewards before obtaining this, but once you have it, use the manual and enjoy the new emote.
