A new release window is finally announced for the Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 set for Fall 2024. Developer The Chinese Room was revealed to be the new studio working on the Action-RPG.
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 Release in Fall 2024; Studio Unveiled
The sequel Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 got some updates on development over the weekend. One piece of major news was the release window of Fall 2024. Since the development’s interruption, it was unknown when the game would be launching but now it has been confirmed for the latter of next year. Another major reveal was the studio that has taken over working on the game, The Chinese Room.
The game previously hit a snag in the development process when the previous studioHardsuits departedfrom the project. Up until this weekend, little was known about who had taken over the project. The Chinese Room is a studio under Sumo Digital. The developer has won awards from BAFTA and TIGA for their narrative-driven projects.
A new announcement trailer shows a little behind the scenes for the Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2. It focuses on the “storytelling” that the team is bringing to the game and seems to be quite the main focus for the Action-RPG based on the World of Darkness. Descriptors include “dark” and “visceral”. As the title follows a group of vampires, the devs want to do right by these complicated beings who have eternal life.
We can also look forward to some actual gameplay in the new year, as early as January. Since the game has switched over to a new team, it will be interesting what changes will come to the game we previously saw. As well as what has been reworked. Hints that news was coming during PAX West were abuzz with Paradox Interactive teasing abig comeback. But it won’t be until next year when we’ll see exactly what the new studio has been up to.
