It is easy to point fingers at Tite Kubo andBleach. At this point, it comes almost naturally to anime fans. A glorious manga that met its downfall the longer it ran. A story told a thousand times and heard just as many times. Fans go on rants regarding the series more often than naught. The criticism that plagues it can also blind fans of the many things it aces.

As compared to works likeOne PieceandNaruto,Kubo may have fallen behind, but there is still much he did right that others simply couldn’t. There may be many things that make his series inferior to the others, but the one upper hand it has is undeniable.

Bleach has a Sense of Fashion

No matter how much fans attempt to hateBleach,it will always have an upper hand with regard to an undeniably superior fashion sense.JoJo’s Bizarre Adventuremay exist but amongst the Big 3, it isTite Kubo’swork that takes the lead in everything fashion. The outfits are beyond exemplary, the designs ranging not just from their Bankai but also their everyday clothing.

A number of characters within the series are adorned by some of the most unique outfits, be it the Shinigami robes or their hair. Some were extremely simple but even in the simplicity, Kubo captured the sleakness of his characters flawlessly. The confidence in which these characters carried their outfits gave them an even bigger advantage.

Tite Kubo’s Bleach May Not Be the Best Manga in the Big 3 but He Has an Upper Hand Against Both Naruto and One Piece with an Iconic Pose

It isn’t even through major things but minute details that help enhance many of his designs. Renji’s hair and tattoos, Aizen’s hair, and Ichigo’s outfit when he is in his Bankai. These are just some examples of just how vast Bleach’s selection of fashion was. Outfits alone do not determine how good a person would look and Kubo took full advantage of that.

Tite Kubo has an Affinity for Fashion

Authors take the liberty of breaking characters and letting their creations experiment with different clothing styles in exclusive artwork. Tite Kubo had the advantage of letting his characters wear whatever they could within the manga because of its fusion storytelling. Moreover, Kubo always had a knack for following the latest fashion trends.

He made it a goal to incorporate any current fad within the manga with various characters appearing in some of the most extravagant outfits. It is best when within uniformity, one finds ways to add, albeit subtly, accessories that become fashion statements. Head gears, collars, earrings, and bracelets; all can go under one’s nose at first glance. However, if worn the right way, they completely enhance an outfit.

While inOne Piece,Doflamingo exists, there isn’t much in the name of fashion. Trendy characters in other works would be seen as exceptions. Although, inBleachthey would be considered as normal, usual characters. Fashion isn’t just a way to look good, its a way of expression and Kubo knew just how to use it.

Bleachis available to watch on Hulu.
