Monster Hunter: World
Over the past week, Capcom made some awesome announcements, with the most important one being that there will be a third Beta round of Monster Hunter: World, that’s just weeks away from release. This upcoming Beta will be the final session and will be set a week prior to the game’s official launch in order to do some last minute stress test on its online servers. Unfortunately once again, the Beta will be a PlayStation 4 exclusive, and as with the previous Beta, a PlayStation Plus membership will not be required.
Since it’s the conclusive Beta round, Capcom has decided to kick things up a notch, which should interest previous participants to go trek into the Wildspire Waste once more. This time around, a fourth quest will be added that’ll see players do battle with one of Monster Hunter: World’s fearsome large monsters:Nergigante. This will be the most challenging mission of the Beta, testing the mettle of even veteran hunters.

Furthermore, Capcom has shared more details on its free post-launch content by revealing the first DLC, in the form of a new but terrifying monster and it is described as “one that must continually devour”. Also, the Elder Dragons will be making a comeback; as showcased in a brand-new trailer that you can check out, along with the Beta’s date and region times, and the free DLC, all on theblog.
Cyberpunk 2077
It has been ages since we last heard anything on Cyberpunk 2077, studio CD Projekt RED’s highly-anticipated sci-fi RPG. And the last time we did hear about it, were either from rumors, leaks, incidents, and such, but nothing official from the developers themselves. However, things have changed when a simple Tweet from the game’s official Twitter let out a sign of life, finally breaking the silence.
The Tweet was simply a beep. An electronic tone? A swear? Either way, as simple as it is, it’s still great news that stirs up a hopes and emotions, as this could mean that we may soon get an announcement, an update of sorts from CD Projekt on this somewhat secretive RPG. This is certainly exciting and stay tuned as we’ll follow up on this once more word on Cyberpunk 2077 arises. For now, you can check out the proof of life yourself that has been archived over on theblog.

And what we’re referring to is a leaked product listing for a Final Fantasy XV: Royal Edition, for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. Dragon Age
Varric Tethras is a well-known name among those who have had a delight to play either Dragon Age 2 or Dragon Age: Inquisition. This dwarf is a favorite personality amongst players of the franchise due to his charm as a quick-witted and humorous NPC companion in the series. Another thing Varric is famous for, is being the author of his best-selling book, “Hard in Hightown”, which is a novel that’s quite popular among the game’s populace, and excerpts of it can be found strewn throughout Inquisition as collectibles.
It’s so popular that in fact, as we’ve learned in the last week, this fictional book will be receiving a real life publication which will be handled by Dark Horse Books and Penguin Random House. It’ll be a short novel that will also contain a good chunk of full-paged illustrations, and will have Varric himself named as its author. Pre-orders have already begun and copies of “Hard in Hightown” will see shelves in our reality sometime in 2018. For more information regarding this and links for placing your orders, you’re able to check them out on theblog.

With its release just next month, Bandai Namco Entertainment has shared the details on the pre-order bonuses players in the West can expect for the upcoming JRPG shooter, Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet; and it shares some similarities with the Japanese version of the title. The new info builds upon the previously revealed Western Collector’s Editions of Fatal Bullet and console gamers will see various sets for specific editions and formats of the game.
Of these includes the original SAO anime costumes for Kirito and Asuna; and special weapons such as a Gold Assault Rifle, colored Photon Swords, and a badass Guitar Launcher which can allow us to play out our Antonio Bandaeras power fantasies, among many others. Also, Bandai has released another new trailer for Fatal Bullet, and this could be the best one yet, as i’ts set to a track from popular Japanese artist, LiSA. Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana
After a valiant and grueling re-localization effort, the much-awaited PC version of the latest Ys action-RPG, Lacrimosa of Dana, has finally be given a new concrete release date. Coming sometime this January, the upcoming Steam launch was made possible by the team NIS America put together in order to correct the various translation errors found in Dana’s initial English release on the PlayStation 4 and Vita, which prompted the company to issue an apology over the quality, thus holding back the PC release.
Over the course of several months, large changes were made to its original script that saw nearly the entirety of it rewritten which meant that a good chunk of Lacrimosa’s dialogue were also redone. These improvements will be made available for Sony’s gaming systems as well via a patch soon. And with this mission soon coming to a close, NISA has revealed a Beta for the game, which will grant all testers a free Steam code for a copy of Ys VIII. If you’d like to read up on the translation progress in detail, as well as finding links to the Beta, you can check them out on theblog.
Darkest Dungeon
With more and more Switch consoles being sold, and in turn breaking records, the latest Nintendo system is also seeing more games in its library. The latest addition to that lineup would be the brutal and gloomy RPG, Darkest Dungeon from Red Hook Studios. Switch owners will get a taste of some great dungeon-crawling gameplay, and it will be something that’ll happen very soon as the Switch version of Darkest Dungeon will become available in a just week through the Nintendo eShop.
Also, the title’s “The Crimson Court” and “The Shieldbreaker” add-ons will also be downloadable from the online storefront, but as separate purchases from the base game. And on the topic of DLCs, the studio has also mentioned that they’ll share the release details on their upcoming “The Color of Madness” expansion at a later time. For other info like the game’s pricing, you’re able to have a look on theblog.
Fallen Legion +
And now we come to our final piece of news. Brought to you by developers Yummyyummytummy and Mintsphere, the 2D action-RPG, Fallen Legion+, is now available for purchase on Steam. At a glance, Fallen Legion is reminiscent of Vanillaware’s Dragon’s Crown in both its art direction and gameplay. But once you get your hands on it, you’ll find that it’s a completely different beast.
This 2D action-RPG has a seemingly simple, but ultimately complex battle system, where players can string together a variety of combos to undo their foes. These combos are formed from your party members, whom each one represents a specific attack type. And apart from combat, players will be faced with consequential choices that has direct influences on the story.
Fallen Legion was initially released in mid of last year as two separate games: Sins of an Empire on PS4, and Flames of Rebellion for PS4 and PS Vita. Each title featured its own set of characters from opposing sides of a conflict, and Fallen Legion+ for PC combines them both in a single release for your enjoyment. You can check out more of the game on theblog, which also includes screenshots and a trailer, all waiting for you.
