No Man’s Sky: RELICSFree Update

RELICSis an update that brings new mechanics, systems, and enemies, all focused on alien archaeology (or technically, paleontology).

WithRELICS, fossil excavations of alien creatures will be introduced, both on land and on the ocean floor, which we can extract with the help of our multitool. Once we have these fossils, we can take them to our base and display them like a museum, choosing each part of the skeleton to create creatures to our liking, or even trade them with other players.

New Enemies and Expedition for the Community

Additionally, the new update forNo Man’s Skyalso includes a new series of ancient enemies made of stone and bone. They are colossal and rocky specters that we will have to face while searching for new fossils.

Of course, the update also brings a new community expedition that will highlight all these new features and offer special rewards to those who complete it.

No Man’s Sky

“Some of our updates are really broad, likeWorlds Part IIjust a few weeks ago (which garnered some of our highest player numbers earlier this year),” reads a statement signed by Tim Woodley, Head of Publishing at Hello Games.“However, sometimes we want to introduce something new and more specific. An example from last year was fishing, which is still very popular among our players. We believe these features make the universe feel broader and more real. Similarly, we’ve been wanting to introduce paleontology for a long time.”

No Man’s Sky RELICSis now available for all players who own the game onPlayStation, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
