However, NetEase is also developing a new AAA first-person shooter game calledMarvel Rivals. This studio, which is popular for making MMO titles, is also part of the Tencent conglomerate. Rumors are saying thatMarvel Rivalswill be announced this year for consoles, mobile devices, and PCs.
Marvel Rivals could be even better than Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra
The Game Developers Conference is live, and it has revealed several new updates about some very interesting games. Inside the Unreal Engine,Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydraimpressed fans with amazing graphics and a powerful story-driven narrative. There are more Marvel gaming projects in development; for example, EA is preparing two games, one aboutBlack Pantherand the other aboutIron Man. But apparently some rumors are saying that NetEase is working on another title.
A Surprising Title is Being Teased by Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra Leaker
Marvel Rivalshas yet to be officially confirmed or announced, but industry insider Kurakasis has been solid with their predictions before, and will likely be going forward as well. In later tweets they confirmed they were ‘100% certain’ about the name of the game, but not necessarily the genre, with other Marvel games being in development at the same time.

The videogames insider, Kurakasis, posted more information on X aboutMarvel Rivals, but there are no other details about the story of the game or if it is going to be a live-service title. This is a very certain possibility, especially with NetEase being in charge of the project.
Marvel Rivals could be a fascinating project
NetEase has only made MMO live-service games, mostly for the Chinese public, but it will be a very good idea to make first-person Marvel; it has much potential to make something different for the fans. There is no confirmation about this project, except for the job offer literally describing thatMarvel Rivalswill have an AAA budget. If the title is announced this year, like the rumors said, the only thing to do is wait.
Marvel really wants fans to forget about the failure ofMarvel’s Avengersfrom Square Enix. Games likeGuardians of the Galaxy, with upcoming titles likeIron Man,Black Panther,Blade, andMarvel 1943: Rise of Hydraall being single-player, are a good sign for the future of these very popular characters.
