Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault, developed byDigital Sun, has confirmed its release window. This sequel to the charming 2018 indieaction RPG, which offered a phenomenal and fun roguelike adventure, now faces the challenge of improving on the original and bringing new features to the table.

Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault Will Arrive in Summer 2025

In a recent video published during The Triple-i Initiative, the developers ofMoonlighter 2: The EndlessVault confirmed the release window for the sequel, stating it will launch during summer 2025 onPC,Xbox Series X|S(includingGame Pass), andPlayStation 5.

For now, unfortunately, there is still no exact release date, but we can expect it to arrive sometime betweenJune and September, if everything goes according to plan. It’s also been revealed that the game will launch inearly access, a detail that had not been disclosed until now.

Moonlighter Announces Sequel with First Gameplay Reveal

The new video also gives us a glimpse at fresh footage from the title, once again showing off itsrevamped 3D visualsand some of the key gameplay elements of this sequel, which is set inTresna, a location born from adimensional collision.

As before, this installment will follow the same formula, allowing us to take control ofWill, a young man turned hero who must explore dungeons to discover all kinds of treasures and then sell them to the highest bidder in his own shop.

What’s New in Moonlighter 2

Back in December, whenMoonlighter 2was announced,Javier Giménez, CEO of Digital Sun, explained that with this game, the team aims to showcase everything they’ve learned over the years.

“We’re channeling all our skill to create a game that is not only better, but brimming with even more charm in every detail,” Giménez emphasized.

In addition to the shift from pixel art to3D graphics, and asoundtrack composed by Christopher Larkin(the composer behind the excellentHollow Knightscore), Moonlighter 2 promisesdeeper roguelike mechanics, new locations, enemies, equipment, and challenges that introduce different ways to manage inventory and strategy in each run.

Once again, this sequel will be published by11 bit Studios.
