NetEase Games’ latest third-person hero shooter video game,Marvel Rivals, was released last week and it’s safe to say that it has been well-received by the fans. Although the entire experience feels familiar, it still features some fresh gameplay elements, plus a lineup of 33 characters from Marvel Comics. Throughout its first week, it attracted a lot of gamers across the world. However, there are some issues that NetEase Games must address to make sure the game keeps up with its competition.

Currently, players have the option to choose any one Marvel hero out of its roster. Giving players the freedom to choose any hero is a good concept. However, it restricts some players from trying out heroes as some players like to instalock heroes. The game lets players pick any hero of any class and since most players go for DPS (duelists), no one is able to try it out. Players have a solution for it. However, it will certainly ruin the game.
Players Are Facing A Major Problem InMarvel Rivals
A viral post on the r/marvelrivals subreddit pointed out a major problem in the game that is ruining the gaming experience for many players. The post explained that there are many players out there who instalock DPS (duelists) and as a result, most squads are filled with DPS only. Plus, players who instalock the best DPS don’t allow other players to try it out, ruining the team composition.
Characters like the Winter Soldier, Hela, Black Widow, and Scarlet Witch are almost locked instantly by players in regular lobbies. To tackle this problem, many players have suggested that NetEase Games could introduce a role queue. Limiting the number of heroes of each class that can be used in a particular game will encourage players totry out all the heroes.

Marvel Rivals’ Weirdest Mechanic Is Likely to Make Certain Characters Weaker After Every Season
In a past interview withDexerto,Marvel Rivalsexecutive producer Danny Koo explained that the studio doesn’t want players to have role lock as it wants them to use the heroes as they like. Role queue helps in filling teams with different roles that can balance out a lineup, something that is necessary for a game likeMarvel Rivals, however, this might be a bad idea.
Role Queue ForMarvel RivalsIs Not A Good Idea
As of now, NetEase Games has no plans to introduce role queue and that’s a good thing. Currently, the game is filled with unskilled players who think the best DPS hero would magically make them better at the game, so adding role queue would encourage queue dodging.
Marvel Rivals Dev Says Concord Didn’t Have Any “unique value” or Enough “switching cost” to Survive Long Enough
This would extend matchmaking time drastically, making the game much worse than it already is. The best way to tackle this problem is to make the teamup incentives much better. The game suggests players to do team ups using different types of heroes within a squad, if NetEase Games makes this powerful, many players would love to try out different heroes.
