Marlon Wayansis a veteran in Hollywood, starring in countless comedies over his multi-decade-spanning career. So it’s safe to say the 50-year-old actor has seen success making a few people laugh, and Wayan’s says he’s not adjusting his style for anyone. During an interview withBuzzfeed, the actor discussed a few of his films includingScary MovieandWhite Chicks. Some have seen the latter as problematic since the initial 2004 release, though Wayans isn’t too worried about that stigma claiming movies like his are “needed.”
“I think they’re needed. I don’t know what planet we’re on, where you think people don’t need laughter, and that people need to be censored and canceled,” he explains. “If a joke is gonna get me canceled, thank you for doing me that favor. It’s sad that society is in this place where we can’t laugh anymore. I ain’t listening to this damn generation.”

White Chickswasn’t exactly a critical success, accounting for five Razzies. However, the film is a cult classic for some, with endlessly quotable lines still used today. The project starred Marlon Wayans alongside his brother Shawn, following two disgraced FBI agents who must go undercover as the titular titled characters.
“I ain’t listening to these folks: These scared-a** people, these scared executives,” he says. “Y’all do what you want to do? Great. I’m still gonna tell my jokes the way I tell them. And if you want to make some money, jump on board. And if not, then I’ll find a way to do it myself.”
He continues, “I know my audience. My audience comes to my shows every weekend and they leave feeling great and laughing. One thing about the Wayans, we’ve always told the worst joke the best way.”
