Lost Ark Deadeye Melee DPS Class in Combat

Lost Ark Deadeye Guide: How To Build A Deadeye

Deadeyesare one of theAdvanced Classesthat fall under theGunner Class. They’re the male counterpart of theGunslinger, which means they also wield 3Weaponsthat they can efficiently cycle between without any cooldowns. Specifically, these are the Handguns, Shotgun, and Rifle. Deadeyes are known as one of the most difficult DPSClassesto excel in because of the guns they have to manage, especially when they find themselves in very hectic situations.

As a Lost Ark Deadeye, despite having the Rifle ready, it doesn’t provide enough decent damage options. Because of this, it’s preferable to default to the Shotgun for primary damage due to the enhancements they receive from the Specialization Stat and Handguns to improve mobility and to inflict debuffs. As such, Deadeyes are considered a Melee DPS Class above anything else. They’re also more vulnerable to taking a lot of damage since they need to be near mobs and bosses to maximize their effectiveness in combat. Additionally, they haveSkillsthat require them to shoot enemies from behind to gain the damage bonuses provided by Back Attacks.

Lost Ark Deadeye Weapon Stance Identity in Combat

Lost Ark Deadeye vs Gunslinger

Deadeyes and Gunslingers are powerful and highly mobile DPS classes inLost Arkbut there are a few differences that set them apart. For instance, Deadeyes deal considerable damage up close since they specialize in wielding the Shotgun. He also needs to constantly change positions to execute Back Attacks in order to efficiently inflict good damage. Conversely, his female counterpart, which is the Gunslinger, is much more flexible in this regard. She can utilize a Shotgun tripod that allows her to effectively shoot enemies at the front, making her relatively straightforward to pilot. Additionally, the Gunslinger has long-range options since she deals massive damage with her Rifle. But if you’re looking to make melee encounters more fun and challenging and you don’t mind frequently repositioning your character, then the Deadeye is certainly the class for you!

Deadeye Class Role and Identity

The Lost Ark Deadeye is a predominantly Melee DPS Class that excels in dealing sustained and burst damage. As a Gunner, their mobility is top-notch in part due to their Handgun Skills. Compared to the Gunslinger, you should be more careful in your actions since you’re squishy and you’ll spend most of your time next to enemies, gearing up to shoot them with your Shotgun.

All Advanced Classes in Lost Ark have unique Specialties or Identities that differentiate them from the other classes. These can either unleash more damage or enhance the buffs they grant. For the Lost Ark Deadeye, it’s the 3 Weapon Stances, which don’t have cooldowns per se. What’s good with this Identity is you can clearly see the skills that are readily available by referring to the boxes under each weapon. For instance, if your Shotgun’sSign of Apocalypse’scooldown has ended, its corresponding blue box will be reflected when you don’t have the Shotgun equipped.

Lost Ark Deadeye Skills and Tripods

Handguns provide utility that not only boosts your attack speed but also inflicts a debuff on your enemy’s crit resistance for you and your allies to deal greater damage against them. The Shotgun will help you inflict massive burst damage up close. And occasionally, you can use your Rifle to poke enemies or engage them from a distance but most of the time, you’ll be switching between the Handguns and Shotgun. Among these weapons, Handguns have the fastest fire rate, followed by the Shotgun and then the Rifle.

Lost Ark Deadeye Best Skills and Tripods

By the time your Deadeye reaches Level 60 in Lost Ark, you will have unlocked a total of 23Skillscomprised of Handgun, Shotgun, Rifle, and Awakening Skills. To add to this, you’ve also invested several points into Handgun, Shotgun, and Rifle Skills to specialize further by unlocking their respective tripods. The Tripod System allows players to customize their skills in various ways like improving crit damage or reducing cooldown rate. In total, you need 8-11 skills for the Deadeye with a select number of tripods. In this section, I’ll cover the essential Handgun, Shotgun, and Rifle Skills and tripods you should allocate points into regardless of the playstyle you end up choosing.

Best Handgun Skills and Tripods

AT02 Grenade- A very good type of utility skill, which not only lets you deal sufficient damage but also incapacitates enemies by freezing them thanks to Freeze Grenade. However, note that this tripod will drastically reduce your overall damage while increasing AT02 Grenade’s cooldown rate. This shouldn’t be a cause for concern since you’ll be able to raise the skill’s base damage anyway with Internal Ignition. And finally, you need to choose Weakness Exposure in order to inflict a crit resistance debuff against enemies, making them vulnerable to taking extra damage from you and your teammates.

Meteor Stream- Conjures a barrage of bullets to charge them while they’re up in the air and then crashes them into an area to deal huge explosive damage. Meteor Stream is a great skill to initiate combat especially when surprising enemies or targeting slow-moving ones given that it takes a few seconds for the bullets to land on the ground. However, you need to make sure to avoid using this skill if they’re already swarming you since you’ll most likely have to dodge them. Doing so while the bullets are still in the air will cancel the skill altogether, thereby wasting its effect and starting the long cooldown period. The Meteor Stream Tripods to consider are Weak Point Detection, Piercing Explosion, and Bombardment Support. This combination focuses on dealing the highest amount of damage possible against Push-Immune or stronger monsters and ignoring the defense of any enemy you go up against. You can also swap Piercing Explosion for Wide Explosion if you’re practicing to target groups since this will allow you to widen the skill’s AoE.

Deadeye AT02 Grenade Skill

Somersault Shot- A great mobility skill where you jump over a group of enemies to evade their attacks and immediately deal Back Attacks afterward. Note that when you’re at the apex of your jump up until you land on the ground, you deal notable damage. The Somersault Shot Tripods to choose are Ignore Collision, Vital Point Shot, and Super Armor. With these, you can pierce through the armor of Normal Bosses, boost crit rate by 50%, and gain Push Immunity while lowering the skill’s cooldown.

Equilibrium- This skill is a source of great damage because you rapidly fire your Handguns in several directions by making a full 360-degree turn due to Enemy Raid. Equilibrium is should be used when you’re being surrounded by groups of enemies, especially when coupled with Weakness Exposure and Vital Point Shot. This combination not only inflicts a crit resistance debuff against them once again but also enhances your crit rate by more than half.

Deadeye Meteor Stream Skill

Dexterous Shot- Unlike Equilibrium, Dexterous Shot allows you to move forward as you’re shooting your way through enemies. Simply move your cursor while you’re dealing combo damage to change directions. The best Dexterous Shot Tripods to acquire to improve attack speed and mobility are Agile Movement and Excellent Mobility, respectively. Lastly, you’ll need to take Agile Shot to increase the number of combos you may execute.

For theEnhanced Weapon Class Engraving, you’re going to want to chooseSpiral Tracker. This increases your Handgun Skills to 6. It’ll be up to you to choose 2 more if you intend to maximize the slots you have for this weapon.

Spiral Tracker - Hurls a spinning Handgun for the Lost Ark Deadeye to inflict notable spread damage several times. To enhance the Spiral Tracker’s capability, the ideal tripods to pick are Weakness Exposure, Quick Pace, and Whirlpool. This combination lets you inflict a debuff against enemies to lower their crit resistance, temporarily improves your movement speed, and pulls targets towards the center of an area, giving you some needed space to get your bearings back.

Conversely, for thePistoleer Class Engraving, which necessitates that you have 8 skills equipped, you’ll want to considerEnforce Execution,Quick Shot, andCruel Tracker.

Enforce Execution - Rushes forward to perform an upper kick, which will deal some damage, and then somersault backward to execute rapid shots. What makes Enforce Execution more effective for the Lost Ark Deadeye are Light Footwork, Aerial Shot, and Barrage Shot. With these, your upper kick speed will be amplified, allowing you to jump back after a millisecond to inflict decent damage. Additionally, Barrage Shot increases the number of shots you fire to boost your Handgun damage while Aerial Shot widens the AoE as you’re shooting enemies to the ground.

Quick Shot - This skill lets you perform at least 2 rapid shots to deal sufficient damage. The best Quick Shot Tripods to greatly enhance it are Swift Fingers, Initiate Shot, and Final Light. With Swift Fingers and Initiate Shot, you not only increase your attack speed but also improve your damage. With Final Light, you convert the last shot into this massive bullet of energy to inflict devastating damage while chipping away at the enemy’s armor. However, Quick Shot’s cooldown also goes up as a result.

Cruel Tracker - Unlocked at Combat Level 36. A great source of high damage that lets you fire a total of 7 shots with the last one dealing massive burst damage. The Cruel Tracker Tripods to consider are Swift Fingers and Vital Point Shot to improve your attack speed and boost your crit rate. And finally, you’ll want to obtain Explosive Bullet to inflict explosive damage in the end, which can potentially break the target’s armor.

Best Shotgun Skills and Tripods

The following Shotgun Skills and tripods that I’ll be talking about are exclusively available to the more versatile Enhanced Weapon playstyle of the Lost Ark Deadeye. For Sign of Apocalypse,Shotgun Rapid Fire, andShotgun Dominator, you need to shoot enemies from behind at point-blank range. This lets you deal double the damage while gaining additional damage bonuses since they reward Back Attacks.

Sign of Apocalypse - This allows you to fire the Shotgun twice to inflict huge damage. Due to Sign of Apocalypse’s long cooldown, you’ll want to invest in Quick Prep to increase the frequency at which you activate it. You should then acquire the Close Shot and Approached Apocalypse Tripods to boost damage further against Normal monsters as well as Push-Immune targets.

Shotgun Rapid Fire - Fires the Shotgun 3 times in a cone-shaped area in front of you. The Shotgun Rapid Fire Tripods to choose to amplify damage greatly are Close Shot and Extended Shot. Particularly, Extended Shot adds a massive combo attack in the end to not only knock down enemies but also to lethally damage them in the process. The last upgrade you should allocate points into is Quick Prep as Shotgun Rapid Fire has a fairly long cooldown period.

Shotgun Dominator - Another heavy-hitting skill that lets the Lost Ark Deadeye shoot enemies multiple times to deal huge burst damage. What makes Shotgun Dominator lethal, especially against Push-Immune targets, are Weak Point Detection, Close Shot, and The Ruler. The Ruler considerably raises damage with the last shot you execute when you successfully hit the Perfect Zone. Note that you need to be extremely attentive when it comes to hitting the Perfect Zone since you’ll quickly approach this in less than a second. If you miss, you won’t be dealing +200% damage.

Last Request- Unlocked at Combat Level 40. Fires a single explosive bullet to inflict massive damage. To make Last Request much more effective, you’ll have to select the Execution and Volley Tripods. Execution allows you to charge forward, making Last Request one of the ideal engagement skills available, followed by Volley, which raises your damage. And finally, you’ll want to offset the skill’s long cooldown rate by picking Quick Prep.

Best Rifle Skill and Tripods

Similar to the list of Shotgun Skills, the dedicated Rifle Skill that I’ll be discussing is only available to the Enhanced Weapon playstyle of the Lost Ark Deadeye.

Perfect Shot- Unlocked at Combat Level 50. This is a great engagement skill that fires a high-caliber bullet from a distance to deal lethal damage. What’s amazing about Perfect Shot is you can easily aim in any direction before hitting the Perfect Zone. The upgrades you should consider taking as long as you successfully hit the Perfect Zone are Bleed Effect, Precision Shot, and Enhanced Shot. This combination amplifies your crit rate, inflicts bleed against remaining enemies, and enhances the damage you deal.

Lost Ark Deadeye Class Engravings and Stats

In Lost Ark, every Advanced Class unlocksEngravingsthat allow you to further specialize in your chosen Class as these grant special effects, which you’re able to activate by reading Recipe Books and equippingAccessoriesandAbilityStones. You’re able to obtain them as random rewards by completing endgame activities such asChaosand Abyss Dungeons, andGuardian Raids.

In this section, I’m going to talk about Lost Ark Deadeye Engravings, which determine the playstyle you wish to adopt for your character and are class-specific abilities and traits. You gain access to this when you reach higher levels. The 2 Class Engravings available to the Deadeye are Enhanced Weapon and Pistoleer. Let’s first discuss the Enhanced Weapon Class Engraving or playstyle together with theStatsthat go with it.

Deadeye Enhanced Weapon Playstyle

Enhanced Weapon encourages you to switch between weapon stances to improve crit rate, and therefore deal greater damage, for several seconds. This makes it the more popular playstyle compared to the Pistoleer since you have the flexibility to use all weapons even if you’ll predominantly switch between the Handguns and Shotgun. To significantly benefit from this, you’ll want to aim for Enhanced Weapon Level 3.

In terms of Enhanced Weapon’s Combat Stats, you’ll want to prioritize Specialization followed by Crit when gearing up. This setup boosts the crit damage and overall damage of your Handguns and Shotguns, respectively, while enhancing your crit rate as well.

Deadeye Pistoleer Playstyle

Comparatively, the Pistoleer severely limits your playstyle by just wielding Handguns, removing the burst damage offered by the Shotgun. Although this is much simpler to play, the damage you deal won’t still be as high. To get the most out of this Class Engraving, however, going for the Pistoleer Level 3 should help improve your overall damage.

In terms of the Pistoleer’s Combat Stats, you’ll want to focus on Crit and Swiftness instead. This setup significantly enhances your Handgun skills’ crit rate and damage while turning you into a crazy mobile machine with higher attack speed and lower ability cooldown rates.

Final Tips

As a Lost Ark Deadeye, you’ll encounter more challenges compared to the Gunslinger since you have to frequently reposition yourself to target enemies from behind. Using the Shotgun not only grants Back Attack bonuses but also doubles the damage you inflict. You also have to move around much more since you lack adequate defenses. In PvP, the Deadeye still struggles from low HP but he can circumvent this by utilizing excellent mobility and debilitating damage combos. He also has Super Armors to protect himself against crowd control. Once you’ve mastered the Deadeye’s playstyle, you’ll be a difficult opponent to put down due to the massive damage you deal with your Shotgun.

In terms of skill rotation for the Enhanced Weapon playstyle, you’ll want to use Spiral Tracker, AT02 Grenade, and/or Equilibrium first to kickstart the crit resistance debuff inflicted on targets. Next, you have to immediately activate Somersault Shot to position yourself behind them upon landing on your feet. Switch to the Shotgun right away, and blast them with Sign of Apocalypse, Shotgun Rapid Fire, or Shotgun Denominator. You should then finish them off with Last Request, which can also be executed as a Frontal Attack.

Lastly, if you find yourself getting caught in the crossfire too often with the Enhanced Weapon Class Engraving, you ought to invest some points into Swiftness. Doing so will improve the attack speed and movement speed of your Lost Ark Deadeye so you can cover more distance to evade enemy attacks.
