There is still hope for those who are waiting to see if Baldur’s Gate 3 will be coming to the hybrid device, the Nintendo Switch.

Larian Studios CEO Hasn’t Ruled Out Baldur’s Gate 3 on Switch

CEO and founder of Larian Studios Swen Vincke recently shared withNintendo Voice Chatabout the possibility ofBaldur’s Gate 3coming to the Switch. When asked about his thoughts on a port, he shared:

I honestly don’t know. I don’t know what the next Switches are gonna look like. On this particular Switch, that might be a bit problematic. There are quite a lot of upgrades that have been done on BG3, so I think it would be very, very hard. But then again, never say never. You never know. Maybe we’ll figure out some magic trick and it’ll work. I just hope personally as a fan the next Switch will have triple the power and triple the battery life. It’s an amazing device. I just hope it has a very long life with lots of upgrades that we can keep on playing all the games we’re playing on other consoles when we’re on the go.

It looks like the current model might hold some limitations when it comes to a port, but Vincke says “never say never” meaning while it might be a challenge, it could still happen.

We have seen some meaty games coming to the Switch recently, one beingupcoming Witcher 3, which had to go through abit of downgradingin order to run smoothly on the handheld device. However this proves it is possible to bring these kind of games to the Switch, offering fans a different experience with on-the-go.

We already know some details about upcoming BG3, when we spoke toLarian Studios and Wizards of the Coast in an interviewearlier this year, who shared that this would be a new story for fans to enjoy with several familiar characters from the campaign.
