Rise of the Ronin has been out on PC for the past week, but the launch hasn’t exactly been smooth. Despite being a highly anticipated title, the port didn’t quite set the world on fire. It doesn’t run well, has stability issues, and even saved data corruption.

That said, it does have some level of ultrawide support, but not for custom or aspect ratios like 48:9. Additionally, the pre-rendered cutscenes are cropped if you’re playing at ultrawide. To address these problems in Rise of the Ronin, Lyall from the modding community has come up with a patch after extensive testing and here is how you can install it.

Fixing the Rise of the Ronin Ultrawide Issues

The RiseOfTheRoninFix from Lyall does several things to improve the ultrawide support in Rise of the Ronin. It adds support for custom resolutions, allows players to adjust the gameplay FOV, fixes the cropped pre-rendered cutscene sequences, and finally fixes various issues related to running at unsupported aspect ratios.

Here is how you can install it:

That’s all you need to do, and the next time you launch Rise of the Ronin, the fix will be applied and all the above issues will be addressed.

Adjust Rise of the Ronin FOV

You can access the additional features of this patch by opening theRiseOfTheRoninFix.inifile. Here you can adjust the gameplay FOV by using a multiplier to adjust it to your liking under [Gameplay FOV].

I recommend starting with something like 1.5 and then increasing or decreasing the value to your liking. It’s also a good idea to take a screenshot so it’s easier to compare.

All credits go toLyallfor creating and testing the patch. Their contributions are incredibly helpful for PC gamers and you may learn about their work on theirPatreonorKo-fi pages.

We don’t expect the developers to address these issues themselves, as they have more pressing concerns regarding the game’s stability and performance. Lyall has been known to work on these patches, so it’s a good idea to revisit the GitHub page from time to time to see if there are any updates.

When he isn’t spending an unhealthy amount of time in Slay the Spire, he’s probably trying out yet another retro-shooter or playing Dark Souls for the 50th time.
