While he did not provide an exact date, he mentioned that bothThe Last of UsandThe White Lotusare set to premiere in the “first half of 2025, within the Emmy window.” He also shared his enthusiasm about the quality of the series, assuring that what he has seen so far from the production promises to delight fans.

“I’ve seen The Last of Us. I think everyone is going to love what [co-creator] Craig Mazin is doing,” he explained to Deadline. In a recent preview of HBO’s upcoming shows, fans got their first glimpse of the second season of the series starring Pedro Pascal, based on the controversial video game sequelThe Last of Us Part II.

The trailer features Joel, played by Pascal, speaking with a character portrayed by Catherine O’Hara, in a scene centered around his decision to save Ellie (Bella Ramsey). The trailer also highlights recognizable locations and characters for gamers, such as Abby, played by Kathryn Dever, Dina (Isabela Merced), and Isaac (Jeffrey Wright).

Jeffrey Wright’s involvement as Isaac, leader of the Washington Liberation Front (WLF), will mark another significant return from the game, similar to how Merle Dandridge reprised her role as Marlene in the first season. Although it’s still unclear if other game actors will return for the live-action adaptation, it is known that Laura Bailey, who voiced Abby in the game, made a cameo in the first season as a Firefly nurse.
