Genshin Impact Build: Razor The Incredible Wolf – Free To Play Guide

Genshin Impact Build: Razor The Incredible Wolf

ThisRazor Incredible Wolf Builduses a combination of Razor’s Elemental Burst, theLightning Fang, and theGuhua SwordTalents ofXingqiuwhich creates persistentRain Swords. With both talents active, Razor Attacks with Electro and Hydro damage, in addition to Physical damage at the same time. The produced Reaction,Electro-Charge,is very deadly to most enemies, and excels at bringing down enemy shields.

It repeats its damage twice with each consecutive Attack, and procsLightning Smiteeach time, ifNightrideris present. On top of that, we gain massive energy fromHigh Voltage, because we have twoElectrocharacters in our party. We deal physical damage with each Attack, which scales with the Attack value, and still affects mobs immune toElectro. So Razor can be a main DPS, at all the times without the need to switch him out.

Genshin Impact Build: Razor The Incredible Wolf – Free To Play Guide

TheRain Swordswork as shields, reducing damage taken, and heals active characters when they are hit. While theLightning Fanggives Razor resistance to interrupts, making him Incredible on the field. Hitting like a Hulk, and durable as the wolf he is.

Razor The Incredible Wolf Attributes

As a sole damage dealer, we want to dish out the most sustained damage. So we focus on getting reliable offensive stats, such as+Attack, and% Attack. We don’t needElectro Damage Bonusthat can be found with some Goblets, as it only increase the Wolf’s Fang lightning damage. It doesn’t affect normal hits, nor elemental reaction. What we get instead is aPhysical Damage Bonus, which increasing all Razor’s attacks, and stacks with initial physical damage bonus from Razor’s Ascension levels.

Towards the endgame, and with heavy investment, Critical becomes stronger than Attack, especially withBlackcliff SlasherClaymore. It’s tricky to compare actual damage dealt with increasing effect of each stat for Razor, so I had to do some nerd work on a spreadsheet taking into account most factors. It turns out that using only%AttackandPhysical damagebonus works best withPrototype Aminus. But forBlackcliff Slasherto be stronger, you need at least a fully leveled, four star Headpiece withCritical Rate. It also wouldn’t truly shine until you hit 35~45%Critical Rateon character attributes. After reaching that amount, you might actually want to add moreCritical Damage.

Genshin Impact Build: Razor The Incredible Wolf – Free To Play Guide

Energy Rechargemight be is a nice addition for Razor, but with our party setup, he recovers Energy really fast, without any investment needed in Energy Recharge. He stays on the field longer, he triggers Electro reactions constantly, and he has passives for increasing energy recharge. On top of that, he restores some of his used energy if you switch him out earlier, before his elemental burst duration ends. What more could we ask for?

Razor The Incredible Wolf Weapon

The Incredible Wolf uses a Claymore, the two handed version of swords in Genshin Impact. For weapon, you might get some good four star weapons from the Wish system, but for Razor, the crafted weapon is plainly better. We use a three star weapon,Skyrider Greatswordas an easy free to play choice for starting out. We can refine it to level 5 easily, creating a powerful weapon early on, that increase in power the more hits you score on enemies. If you plan on replacing it, don’t waste much resources on Ascending it though.

Crafting A Four Star Weapon

I recommend craftingPrototype Aminus, a weapon with a good Attack bonus, consistent damage output, and a nice burst on single targets. You need to farm weekly bosses, or buy theNorthlander Claymore Prototypefrom the Souvenir Shop located in Monstadt and Liyue. You will need to farm White Iron Chunks and Crystal Chunks, to craft the four star Claymore at The Blacksmith. You need more of them to craft another, to refine your crafted weapon. It’s an easy weapon to acquire, as well as maintain, and doesn’t have a special condition to proc damage. An overall good option for Razor.

The Ultimate Weapon

That would be none other than theWolf’s Gravestone. It gives a high base attack, high attack bonus, higher attack bonus against low HP enemies, and a party buff with attack bonus! It can stack insane numbers quickly. But it’s a five star weapon that has a rate up on the weapon banner that was active when Klee’s banner was around. I wouldn’t recommend spending money gambling for it though, as weapons banner doesn’t guarantee giving you this weapon. No matter how much you spend, the pity system only gives you 50% chance for each of the two five star weapons. So I’d advise sticking with the free to play options mentioned previous, as you have very strong options there anyway.

The four starBlackcliff Slasheris purchasable from Paimon’s Bargains for 24Masterless Starglitterduring November. This Claymore gives massive critical damage bonus as it level up, but needs some investment in Critical Rate on Artifact to be more effective. It has a buff to Attack once you defeat an enemy, which can stack three times, a very good buff for Spiral Abyss. I’d use theBlackcliff SlasheroverLithic Bladein this party setup, becauseLithic Bladerequires many characters originating from Liyue to build up a stronger buff. But both weapons are good if you found yourself with either.

Razor The Incredible Wolf Artifacts

Figuring out how to customize yourArtifactsets is one of, if not the hardest part of making a Build in Genshin Impact as there are a lot of components involved, and generally takes a try or two before getting it right. In this section, I want to show you how I’ve set this up for maximum performance in this build.

Gladiator’s Finale Set

Hands down, best set for our build is theGladiator’s Final. It has a massive 35% damage bonus for normal attacks on four pieces, and standard 18% attack damage on two pieces. It’s not available in early game, but as you go over AR35, there are some tasks in the adventure book that guarantees five stars pieces from theGladiator’s FinaleSet. It’s very good on Razor, because of his high attack speed, and because of its consistent damage bonus. If you don’t have four pieces ofGladiator’s Finaleat low levels, you can mix it with two pieces of theMartial ArtistSet. Or use two pieces ofMartial Artistand two pieces of any % attack Set likeResolution of Sojourner. They’re easier to access, but have smaller bonuses as trade off.

Flower of Life & Plume of Death

The main stat on these artifacts is predetermined, with Flower always giving a primary HP stat, and Plume always giving Attack. This makes it easier to get an Artifact with perfect stats on these two slots, because you only need to worry about sub-stats (as in less variables). We want any combination of% Attack,Crit Rate,Flat AttackandCrit Damageon sub-stats here.Energy Rechargeis not bad either, but has less priority.

There’s a high chance you will have a five star Flower or Plume from theGladiator’s FinaleSet, before any other Set. So double check if they have a couple of good stats, and level them to level 20. Make sure to not level any 4 starGladiator’s Finaleunless it has the absolute best sub-stats, because you will probably get a better 5 star here.

prototype-aminus-claymore-weapon-genshin-impact-wiki-guide

Sands of Eon

This is a more flexible Artifact, with the focus being on the main stat. It can roll different stats as main, and that’s why it’s harder to acquire the perfect pieces, but it also has a higher ceiling. We seek% Attackmain stat, then seek couple good sub-stats. These are% Attack, Crit Rate, Flat AttackandCrit Damage.

Goblet of Enotherm

We need aPhysical Damage Bonus,or%Attackon the main stat here. It’s harder to get the right bonus because Goblet can roll every elemental damage bonus, so the pool of modifiers is larger than any other piece. So Goblets don’t have to belong to your 4 piece set. You can have theGladiator’s Finaleon all other slots, and get the Goblet from any set that has the right main stats, and some good sub stats. These are% Attack, Crit Rate, Flat AttackandCrit Damage.

Circlet of Logos

If you are building Critical damage on a weapon - which you should - then you need this Headpiece dedicated toCrit Rate. It’s very important stat, and kind of a build enabler. You will pass with%Attackas main stat on Headpiece if you are usingPrototype Aminusas weapon. But for very endgame, you will need your critical rate somewhere, and Headpiece is the only place where it rolls as a main stat. Get some of good sub-stats as well, these are% Attack, Crit Rate, Flat AttackandCrit Damage.

Razor The Incredible Wolf Talent Skills

Steel Fang

Normal Attacks are fairly slow, but a have wide AOE, and can chain four times, increasing in power. So the last hit in the combo is strongest. you may cancel the long animation by dashing quickly after the 4th attack, so you can rapidly initiate another combo. WithElemental burst, Razor has a faster attack speed, and the wolf companion slash together withRazoralong with each normal attack. The normal attack deals physical damage, and the wolf companion deals lesser Electro damage. This is our main DPS in the entire party, and we build everything to buff it.

Charged Attack is disabled during Razor’sElemental Burst, and outside of his Elemental Burst it feels slow, so we will disregard it.

Claw and Thunder

The behavior ofRazor’s Elemental Skill change depends on the amount of time you hold down the button. If you press it and release it quickly, the wolf companion quickly slashes at enemies. It deals 199~299% Electro attack damage (at skill level 1~7), and has a 6 second cooldown. So, you have many uses in a short period of time. It also generate an “Electro Sigil”, which stacks up to three times and increases Razor’sEnergy Recharge.

If you hold the skill for a couple of seconds before releasing, it charges the attack, affecting a wider area of effect. It deals 295~443% Electro attack damage (at skill level 1~7), and has a 10 second cooldown. It also consumes all “Electro Sigils”, directly givingRazor5 energy per sigil. The whole mechanic has high damage potential, and is able to trigger an Elemental Reaction. But the most important utility is the Energy Recharge and Energy gain. It allows for Razor to regain Energy very quickly, he may even have his Elemental Burst ready before the cooldown ends.

The optimal strategy for usingClaw and Thunderis pressing it two times, switch toXingqiuand use his Elemental Burst. Then switch back toRazorand pressClaw and Thundera third time. Now unleash Razor’sElemental Burst, which resets the cooldown ofClaw and Thunderinstantly. So you can useClaw and Thunderfully charged, for massive damage and massive Energy gain. NowClaw and Thunderhas a longer cooldown, but you still deal Electro damage fromLightning Fang. So you maintain the Electro element output, which is vital in causing Electro Reaction to regenerate more energy for Razor. It’s all synergy upon synergy to reach maximum efficiency.

A final note is anAwakeningpassive that decreasesClaw and Thunder’s CD by 18%. So it’s shorter than numbers listed here.

Lightning Fang

The bread and butter of this build is Razor’s Elemental Burst. It’s a simple talent that summons the wolf companion along with Razor, to deal Electro attack with each Normal attack. The Elemental hit deals less damage than the normal attack, but it’s important to proc the Elemental Reaction. The amazing thing aboutLightning Fanghowever, is the Attack speed bonus that comes with it. It can reach up to 37% at skill level 7, which is a straight 37% more DPS multiplier.

Genshin Impact has a very limited source of Attack speed, andLightning Fangis the best out all of them, and it lasts for 15 seconds, on a 20 second cooldown. Combined with the mechanics ofClaw and Thunder, theElemental Resonance: High Voltage, and alsoHungerpassive which gives a 30% Energy recharge. The combination of these factors, will mean it recharges before these 20 seconds are up. So it’s up for almost 75% of time, a massive uptime for such a strong buff.

On top of all the offensive buffs,Lightning FanggivesRazora huge Electro resistance, making him almost immune to all Electro reactions. It gives him a defensive advantage over most elemental heroes.

Note that these effects end when Razor leaves the battlefield, but to compensate for it, he gets up to 10 Energy back when doing so. It’s important to keep track of all party Elemental Skills and Bursts, so you them all before unleashingLightning Fang. This way you don’t have to switch Razor out once you use his Burst.

Razor The Incredible Wolf Party Composition

Genshin Impact has a unique playstyle that depends on switching characters, and chaining combos across these characters. So a solid part of Razor’s build is knowing which characters will accompany him, and what roles they will play. In this section, I’ll fill you in on some of the best characters that synergise well with this build. I’ll only use Four Star characters here, to make sure it’s achievable for free to play players.

The funny-speaking, book-reading, Guhua-geeking, Xingqiu is the best four star support in the game. He can heal, he can reduce incoming damage, and apply a good Hydro element passively for elemental reactions. He deals decent damage, even with three star weapons. We had an increased chance to getXingqiuby using wishes on the “Klee Sparkling Steps” temporary banner, when it was available.Xingqiuwas good reason to use your free wishes on this banner for him alone, as he’s a solid character and his Constellations are great. So if you have used this banner, you probably have him and some Constellations unlocked. My free to play account currently has 4 Constellations, and that makes him an SS tier character. I prefer him on support role over five starMona.

In this party, we will buildXingqiuinto a hybrid role between Enabler and Support. His Elemental Skill gives a damage reduction buff, and heals active characters whenever he takes damage. While his Elemental Burst keeps shooting Rain swords with Hydro damage with each normal attack, and persists after switching characters. These two talents synergises very well withRazor, andFischl, as their Electro talents always procElectro-Chargedon wet enemies.

The importance of elements order inXingqiucombo

Note the order of elements causingElectro-Chargedmatter, and behave slightly different. If you apply Hydro first, and procElectro-Chargedwith Electro, it consumes both elements andElectro-Chargeddeal its damage twice over one second. This happens whenXingqiuuses his Elemental Skill, because it applies Hydro on everything that comes into contact with. Followed by Razor or Fischl’s Electro talents, Electro becomes the trigger.

If the order is reversed, with Hydro triggeringElectro-Charged,something very interesting happens.Electro-Chargeddeals damage once, and doesn’t consume either Electro nor Hydro elements from enemies. This make both elements last longer, and allow a third element to proc two elemental reactions on one hit. For example, the Pyro element will proc bothVaporizeandOverloaded. If the third element is another Electro hit, it procsElectro-Chargeagain, and deals its damage twice over in the next second. So the end result of the complex interaction is moreElectro-Chargedprocs per hit. IfXingqiuuses his Elemental Burst, then Razor uses his Elemental burst, it causes a Hydro attack to hit enemies after each Electro attack from Razor, creating twoElectro-Chargedreactions with a single normal attack. HavingFischl’sNightrideractive at the same time, allows her passiveLightning Smiteto proc twice on top of all other hits.

TLDR, one Normal Attack with Razor = 1 physical hit + 1 Electro hit + 1 Hydro hit + 2 Electro-Charged + 2 Lightning Smite = Total 7 hits

To scaleXingqiu’s healing, we need straight upHP, so it becomes our main stat. Then we seek aHydro damage bonus, because it increase both damage forXingqiuand damage reduction for the entire party when hisElemental Skillis active.Energy RechargeandAttackis useful as secondary stats, and that’s about it. A version of this build can scale Elemental Mastery for maximum damage of Electro-Charged, but that’s a whole other build. Nonetheless, elemental reaction withXingqiuwill be decent anyway if you keep him up to level, and haveFischlusing theInstructorset.

On paper,Sacrificial Swordis the best weapon for a support likeXingqiu, his cooldown is long (21 seconds), and this sword gives it another cast. In reality, it’s great and all, butRazoris such a selfish carry you don’t want to switch him out for long. If Razor’s Elemental Burst is up, you will most likely stay on him until its the very end, so a faster cooldown forXingqiuis not necessarily OP. By the time you switch back to him naturally, his 21 second cooldown is already over.

I however prefer using a simple weapon such as theFillet Blade. It not only has a good attack, but it deals 400% damage every 10 seconds as well. So every time you switch toXingqiuand use his Elemental skill, you get another attack with very good damage.Fillet Bladeis a three star weapon so you can refine it to level 5 so easily. It also uses less materials to level up, saving you precious resources to spend where it matters the most.

Use two pieces of theThe ExileSet and two pieces of theAdventurerSet for most of your leveling. They are very accessible and will do the job nicely. However, the end goal is to have four pieces of theNoblesse ObligeSet, to emphasize on his support role.

Four pieces ofThe ExileSet is good, but considering every other party member probably refills their Elemental Burst beforeXingqiu, it’s less than optimal.

Get aHydro Damage Bonusas the main stat on Goblet, and%HPon every other piece. For secondary stats look forEnergy RechargeandAttack.

You had a high probability of getting her through Venti’s temporary Wish banner, and you may have received a number of Constellations for her that way. We use her as damage support or “Burst support” for Razor, and she synergies very well with dual Electro Hydro party. This composition guarantees several procs of a Electro reaction, so Oz damages enemies several times with the use ofLightning Smite. She’s also a necessary character to get theHigh Voltagebonus from Elemental Resonance. Also any Electro particles she regenerates with her Elemental skill, contributes towards recharging Razor’s Energy.

On the field, we switch to her and use either her Elemental Skill or Elemental Burst, then switch her out, focusing on other characters.

Electro Damage Bonusis a very nice damage boost, you always get it wherever applicable. Then build on some Percentage and flatAttack, and for the purpose of this build, we also getElemental Masteryas her DPS as it will be a result of an Elemental Reaction.

We focus more on elemental reactions, so we go with theThe Stringlessfor Elemental Mastery. It can produce nice numbers with each of Oz’s attacks. If you don’t have it, craft aPrototype Crescent. Make sure to level whatever weapon you use for Fischl, it’s always rewarding, and she scales damage very very well on low levels and high levels alike.

Quite different compared to our previousBuild Guides,Fischlhere goes full Elemental Mastery, so she equips four pieces of theInstructorSet and nothing else from start to finish.Elemental Masteryis a huge damage multiplier to all Elemental reactions, especially her “transformative reactions” such as Electro-Charged. So onceFischl’s Elemental skill causes an Elemental reaction, the entire party gets their elemental reaction damage increased.

To have this set bonus always applied, we useXingqiu’s Elemental Skill first before switching toFischl. If enemies have Hydro applied and nothing else, Fischl Elemental Skill will cause an Electro-Charged reaction. We need to wait 1 second or two before switching Fischl out, to ensure the reaction happens while Fischl is an active character on the field.

GetElectro Damage Bonusas a main stat on Goblet,Elemental Masteryon timepiece, andAttackon Headpiece. Or alternatively, use% Attackon all three pieces. For sub stats, we get moreAttackandElemental Mastery.Fischl has the lowest HP and Def in the party, so if you worry about,HPmight not be a bad choice, if you want to ensure Fischl don’t get one shot.

The fourth slot in the party is a more of a flexible choice, depending on the situation and what characters you have.Barbarais a very safe choice. She uses the Hydro Element, and increases all healing done in the party. She’s also amazing at bringing down shields of most Abyss mages, and stunning the Pyro Regisvine boss. Even if you don’t use Barbara in your main party, you will need her in a second party in Spiral Abyss. She also helpsXingqiurecharge his Energy faster, with every Hydro particle she regenerate with her elemental skill.

Barbarais free to acquire from Events after 1.1 patch. Another dupe of her was available if you reached AR 20 before patch 1.1, so most players will have her first Constellation by now. If you have rolled some wishes in Venti’s temporary Wish banner, you will likely have even more Constellations. With Constellation 2 being the most impactful.

If you don’t want a second Hydro character, useDionaas the Cryo choice, to deal more damage through Superconduct.

Build her all out inHP, andHealing Bonuses.Barbarais the last character you need to worry about, you don’t have to maximize her levels or stats. While leveling, leave her at level 40, and at endgame get her to 60 for the last passive, and leave her there.

The best weapon forBarbarain this composition is the three star CatalystThrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers. It’s surprisingly a very strong weapon for a three star. Mainly because it works best for support characters that stay on the field for very short amounts of time, and can be switched out quickly. The passive buff it gives is up to 48% Attack increased to the new character taking the field afterBarbara. Now you see why it’s very good for Razor’s damage, and why it’s important to switch toBarbaraas the third character in your rotation, and switch to Razor after her.

Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayersis easy to refine to level 5, and cheap to level up. Though, it’s not even important to level it at all. level 1 will give the same buff to your carry as a fully leveled weapon, you only miss slightly small amounts of healing, which is not that crucial with two healing supports in your party. Leave it at low level, and save your resources for other cruel weapons that scale your party damage.

Maiden Belovedٍis ideal for healers, and the four piece bonus is amazing to help healing coming from bothBarbaraandXingqiu. In early levels, use any pieces with goodHProlls without caring about Sets, then slowly replace them withMaiden Belovedas you level up.

GetHPas a main stat on every piece, andHealing Bonuson circlet if possible.

Final Tips

First Round Rotation

A crucial part of our success with Razor is knowing he’s a selfish carry, meaning he needs to stay on field, and it’s ideal not to switch him out for any extended period of time. So the rotation before switching to him is very important. We start withXingqiu’s Elemental skill, then switch toFischlto use her Elemental Skill, and verify to stay on her until one elemental reaction occurs at least.

Afterwards we deployBarbaraand use her Elemental Skill, if enemies have an elemental shield, we might stay onBarbarafor a of couple seconds to bring it down first. Then we must switch fromBarbaratoRazor, and not anyone else, to get a huge damage buff for him. We use Normal Attacks and then his Elemental skill, which should fill his Elemental Burst very quickly. Use his Elemental Burst, then use a fully charged Elemental skill and then use normal attacks and quickly dash between enemies. Before the end of his Elemental Burst most enemies should be dead in the open world.

Second Round Rotation

For bosses and longer, more challenging fights such as the Spiral Abyss, Trials, or Domains, we need a second rotation. So switch back toXingqiu, Use his Elemental Burst (and his Elemental Skill if it is off cooldown).Fischl’s Elemental Skill might still be on cooldown, so use her Elemental Burst and don’t wait for her to finish, just switch her out after one second.

Then you want to make a decision, to switch toBarbaraor not, because her weapon buff is on a 20 second cooldown, and it’s less obvious if it’s ready or not. The way I measure it is withXingqiu’s Elemental Skill cooldown, which has 21 seconds. If I usedXingqiu’s Elemental Skill in this round, then the cooldown forThrilling Tales of Dragon Slayersmust be up. In that case I switch toBarbarathen quickly switch to Razor, not looking at her skills at all. Her Elemental Skill has a 32 second cooldown, and can never be ready in one round. IfXingqiuElemental Skill were not ready when I first switched to him, then I don’t even bother switching to Barbara, and go straight to Razor to unleash his Elemental Burst once more.

We hope you found this build useful, and hopefully it gives you a good idea of how to maximise Razor’s potential.
