As one of the more relatively new streaming platforms,Apple TV+continues to surprise viewers with its quality television shows and movies each month. Thankfully, October is no different for the streaming service, which has a plethora of content slated to drop in the coming weeks. While their catalog might not be as extensive as Netflix or Hulu, Apple TV+ still offers plenty of binge-worthy shows and films deserving of any viewer’s potential movie night.
From dark comedies to psychological thrillers and documentary features, every viewer will certainly enjoy Apple TV+, which has something for everyone in the family. With some returning favorites, there are also plenty of brand-new series audiences won’t want to pass up. There might not be anything too spooky headed to the platform forthe Halloween season, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty for audiences to dive into as the crisp autumn weather begins to settle in.

The Last of the Sea Women
Directed by Sue Kim,The Last of the Sea Womenis a documentary film about the haenyeo, a community of free-diving women in Jeju, South Korea. An endangered tradition, the fisherwomen have been harvesting seafood for their communities for many centuries. Given how dangerous the work is, the haenyeo aren’t eligible for health insurance, but their valuable work generally garners a good income.
Furthermore, they’re highly praised in an otherwise patriarchal society, which highlights the impact and importance of such a vocation. However, with the increasing amounts of sea garbage polluting the waters, the changing ocean temperatures as a result of global warming, and the release of water contaminated bythe Fukushima nuclear accident, the future of haenyeo life remains in jeopardy.
