Throughout your adventures inClair Obscur: Expedition 33, you will face off against some of the ugliest and most monstrous creatures. The Paintress has crafted some unique but frightening beings, some large and some small. In this case, we face off against one of the first significant challenges the RPG is willing to throw at us: Eveque.
Eveque is the first major boss in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. It is located in Spring Meadows, the initial forest Gustave and Lune initially find themselves in after the attack on the beach. It’s not too far into the Spring Meadows area, but once you hit the boss room, there’s no backing down. The screen will go into letterbox, letting you know the boss is coming. Take it down to progress and hopefully find your fellow expeditioners.

Description
One-Handed Attack
This is the single strike in which Eveque will lift his left hand above his head.
Wait exactly three seconds from when the spear appears or listen for the boss’ light groan to stop.
Two-Handed Attack
Eveque will lift two spears above his head.
This one is much harder to time. Wait four seconds from when he spawns the spears.
Eveque will summon two allies.
Abbest Base Attack
The summon’s single melee attack.
As soon as the summon cranks its head all the way back, there’s a loud sound effect.
Abbest Ground Attack
The summon will hit the player with a single ground strike.
This is easy to avoid. The hit comes out on the third hit, so use the audio cues to time it.
Eveque will become enraged and gain eight shields. Use the aim ability and burn to whittle this down.
Charging Up
Eveque will begin to prepare itself for his most powerful attack. Simply use the aim feature and knock out his core in his chest.
Charged Up Attack
Similar to the Abbest Ground Attack, he will do 9 instances of this.
Listen to the sound effect and time it on the third hit. Just be prepared to do this 9 times in a row.
Lune is your best tool in this fight. You should already have anice-imbued weapon, but even then, she can learn an ice cast from her skill tree (Ice Lance). Make sure to have Gustave learnPowerful, an ability that will buff allies. This will help boost Lune’s attacks on Eveque.
While Lune is prioritizing Eveque, Gustave should be either buffing her or focusing on the smaller adds. The adds should be prioritized when they enter the field because their attacks can add up, but they are resistant toPhysical attacks, so use elemental skills if you can.
When the boss enrages, be sure to utilize all your projectile weapon AP to bring down the shields and then the core. Timing on the ground attacks are easy to avoid, but the over-the-head spear attacks can be tricky.
