How many guns is too many kinds of guns? Hundreds, thousands, lots? The answer, of course, is that there’s no such thing, and that if a device can accelerate a projectile to ridiculous speeds then it’s always welcome in the arsenal. Rifles, shotguns, machine guns, bazookas, lasers, grenade launchers, and why not a trebuchet as well if you’re able to just figure out how to carry it around? More kinds of guns is always better, and Endless Firepower knows this. The robot invasion has begun (robots don’t need air, water, or vegetation and would be just as happy on Mars as Earth, but lets ignore that for now) and only a well-equipped fighter has the necessary tools to stand up against the AI uprising.
Endless Firepower is an action-roguelike FPS featuring near-infinite weapons and the robots to use them against. Each level is made up of hand-built rooms in a randomized order, but the definition of “room” here is more of wide-open spaces. The robots can see you just as well as you can see them, with firefights frequently take place over long distance crossing multiple rooms, so it’s important to choose a loadout that’s effective at all ranges. Of course, “choose” is maybe not the best word for it, seeing as the weapons and their distribution is randomized. Open a weapons chest and there could be anything in there, from low-level garbage to ultra-rare god-killer tier. Smaller chests and safes hold shields and other goodies, while vending machines wait to take all your hard-earned cash for another roll of the weaponry dice. With all the guns Endless Firepower drops, though, you can only carry two at once, so there are some hard choices ahead once you’ve got a comfortable loadout.

The demo of Endless Firepower that came out during the last Steam Next fest was a lot of fun, showing off some attractive arenas and good firefights, and the Early Access version has released today. While there’s no release trailer and apparently nothing on Youtube, you can see at least a bit of the game in motion onthe Steam page. Endless Firepower is a great little indie roguelike FPS and it should be a lot of fun to watch grow into its final form over the coming months.
