Summary
One of the hardest parts of being aNightwingstan is finding high-quality merch, especially items that are officially licensed by DC and suitable for everyday wear. The Nightwing merch I’ve seen from DC is lackluster at best and downright cheap-looking at worst. So, this is me begging the comic publishing juggernaut to use one of Dick Grayson’s newest costume designs as inspiration for a high-quality piece of merch that I can spend my hard-earned money on.
I am officially on a warpath when it comes to obtaining decent Dick Grayson merch. I am so over the black graphic T-shirts with Nightwing’s blue insignia. Yes, they’re cool for a hot minute, but after a while, they become boring and usually aren’t the best quality.

NIGHTWING #118 (2024)
Bruno Redondo
Variant Covers:
Jamal Campbell, Serg Acuña, Bruno Redondo, Nicola Scott, and Tirso Cons
Embark on an exhilarating journey through the streets of Blüdhaven as we bid a heartfelt farewell to the dynamic duo of Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo in the epic conclusion to their award-winning run. With Nightwing’s fear of heights overcome, he returns to Bludhaven for one final face-off with Heartless and Tony Zucco. It’s the battle you’ve all been waiting for! And if we’ve learned anything from Nightwing these last couple of years, we know he never has to do it alone. One thing’s for certain though, Bludhaven will never be the same after this!

It’s become obvious to me that DC is lacking ideas for merch, especially for characters outside theJustice League’s Trinity of Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. Lucky for the comic publisher, though, one of their artists has provided the perfect blueprint for something fresh and exciting via their variant cover forNightwing#118.
Dick Grayson Gets Casual Nightwing Zip-Up Jacket and ‘Haley Circus’ Baseball Cap That I Need in My Closet NOW
The solicitation for Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo’s upcoming release ofNightwing#118 on June 14, 2025, features a variant cover by Jamal Campbell that has captured my heart for several reasons. First and foremost, the art is utterly gorgeous, depicting a picturesque scene of Dick and his puppy Haley sitting on a mountaintop with a stunning sunrise in the background, painting the sky in soft colors while also showcasing the classic Nightwing insignia. However, what truly stood out to me about this variant cover was the outfit Campbell depicts Dick wearing—an extremely casual yet stylish rendition of his Nightwing suit.
Instead of the skin-tight Kevlar and Nomex suit,Dick is pictured in a black and Nightwing-blue zip-up hoodie with electric blue accents that make it pop—a noticeable design deviation from his typical wear. He also dons a pair of loose black athletic pants and hiking boots that match the jacket’s color scheme. Additionally, Dick is seen wearing a baseball cap that says “Haley’s Circus,” making the outfit a tribute to both his past and present. Adorably, Haley matches Dick’s color scheme, sporting an electric blue collar and a black and Nightwing-blue vest. My takeaway from Campbell’s art? I need all of it to be buyable merch.

Nightwing’s New Nickname Is the Perfect Celebration of His Past
One iconic Justice Lague Dark member has officially crowned Nightwing with a new nickname that is the perfect tribute to Dick Grayson’s past.
Bruno Redondo and Jamal Campbell Have ProvenFallen GraysonIs Dick Grayson’s Casual-Wear Era (And I Am SO Here For It)
TheFallen Graysonarcis undoubtedly Nightwing’s casual era, as other variant covers, such asBruno Redondo’s forNightwing#117, also depict Dick in casual yet stylistically distinct Nightwing outfits. Redondo’s rendition leans more towards the tactical side, while Campbell’s embraces everyday wear, making it the perfect addition to my closet. I would be overjoyed if DC made the “Haley Circus” baseball cap and the Nightwing zip-up hoodie available for purchase, and I would likely (read: definitely) wear them for the rest of my life. So please, DC, hear my pleas and give me theNightwingmerch my heart desires.
