CD Projekt Red reveal the expansion Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty has now surpassed 4.3 million units sold according to their recent earning reports.
Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty Hits 4.3 Million Units Sold
The developer CDPR announced the expansion’s success in its latest earnings report (Q3 2023). The expansion, which came out on September 26 this year has received high praise from critics, sold three million copies in its first week and kept selling well.
Chief financial officer Piotr Nielubowicz shared in a video “According to our estimates, after last weekend total sales of the expansion topped 4.3 million copies.” To put that in perspective Nielubowicz explained that now “every fifth person who owns a copy of the base game” now has a copy of Phantom Liberty on either PC or next-gen consoles.
This news comes ahead of the recently announced Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition which will be released on December 5th 2023. In case you missed it, theUltimate Editionwill both include the base game and the expansion. It also includes the latest updates including update 2.0 which came with a bunch of overhauled game systemsPerksystem, added new options forvehicle combatand more.
CP2077 Phantom Liberty has also been nominated fortwo awards for TGA 2023including Best Narrative and Best Performance for Idris Elba for his role asSolomon Reed. Both categories are going to be a tough one as they go againstBaldur’s Gate 3which has just stormed the nominees list this year.
