To purge this being,Khazanis tasked with going throughthree trialsto face hisinner demons and fearsas well as masteringnew weaponsandskillsalong the way to the confrontation withBlade Phantom.
This guide is meant to walk you throughthe trialsleading up to themain boss fightalong withstrategies and tipsto take down theBlade Phantom.Upon completing this guide, you will be able todefeat the boss,receive the rewards, and unlock the accompanying achievement,“Combative Phantom from the Netherworld”.

The First Trial
The first trial will requireKhazanto master theGreatswordand confront shades of citizens from his past. In a briefwave-styledfight,Khazanmust defeat all theshadowy enemiesthat rush at him, preferably using the weapon you just obtained. Defeat theslender shadowy figureswithquick movement arcsand deal with theheavier-set shadowy figureswithheavy-charged attacksto defeat them in two moves or fewer. Once you survive thewaves of enemies,you completethe first trialand can continue to the next.

The Second Trial
Thistrialunlocks theSpearforKhazanand amini-boss fightbetweentwo elite soldiers.One has asword and heavy shieldand the second holds aspear and heavy shield combo.Both entities will shout accusations atKhazanbefore attacking, following a similar pattern to theenemiesyou’ve fought before, though you will face them one at a time. To get through both quickly,dodgetheirfirst set of attacksand use thecharged attackto break theirpoise,follow upwith a secondcharged attackto activate abrutal blowto finish them off. Repeat the steps for thesecond soldier, and you’ll be moving on to thenext trialwithin just a few minutes.

The Third Trial
Thistrialrevisits theDual Bladesthat you’ve been accustomed to from the start of the game. You will be facing adual-blade-wieldingassassin. Dodging theirquick movementsand utilizing yourCharged Attackswill break theirpoise.However, you should only attack up totwo timesbefore falling back into anotherdodge, and follow up with a fewSwift Strikesbefore ablock. Repeat the following patterns and optimize the usage of theBrutal Blowsto defeat themini-bossand move on to your final confrontation with theBlade Phantom.

Blade Phantom Patterns:
Phase 1always opens with apunch andback-kick combo, blocking thefirst three punchesand firstback-kickwhile usingBrink Dodgeon thelast kickto gain space for an attack. Blade Phantom can also summon a hammer to create anAOE shatter effect.This can be bothdodged or blocked, but ifblockedyour stamina at this point in the game will be left at a sliver and any other attacks willexhaustKhazanand make himvulnerable.
Tobait out movesor get thePhantomto move closer, arm ajavelinand quickly revert to yourweapon. Do not throw thejavelin. This willbaittheBlade Phantomto mist and close the gap towardsKhazan, performing a swift move with either theSpearonce or apunch/kick combo.Use this opportunity to punish the boss with yourGreatswordorSpearrespectively, as these two are better than theDual Bladesfor this particularboss fight.
Blade Phantomwill also attempt to grabKhazanthree times in a row. If he manages to land agrab,you’ll be unable to move and lose a chunk of yourhealth. Instead, use yourBrink Dodgeto avoid theattackandfollow upwith either aranged attackor ajavelin throw. Once you get theBlade Phantomtohalf health, you will have a few seconds to healor use anyitemsbefore the screen changes forPhase 2.
Blade Phantomhas anunblockable attackthat grabsKhazanby the throat and drains aquarter of his health, instead utilize yourdodge.
Additional Blade Phantom Patterns:
Phase 2begins once you get the Blade Phantom to half of his health. The environment will change to the outdoors and theBlade Phantomwill gain afew new attacksalongside hisprevious set.He will open withequipping clawsandstart slashing at Khazan,block, andmove backwardfromBlade Phantom.On his last move of the set, he willjump up into the skyand summon aspearbefore he hurls it down towards the ground,dodging the red radiusthat appears to avoidpoise breakage.Blade Phantomwill still utilize hisprevious movesmixed in with thethree new attacks, just at ahigher speed, so during this phase, you can start throwingjavelinsafter hemists backwardto close the gap.Exhausthim2–3times intoBrutal Swing,block his attacks withBrink Guardand he’ll go down.
Blade Phantom’sspeed increases thelower his health falls.Do not attackduring hisswordphase, whereyour characterwill sustainheavy damageif caught.
Boss Rewards
Unlike thefirst boss, you don’t kill or rid yourself of The Blade Phantom,instead choosing toally yourselfwith them. In exchange for aiding you in your quest for vengeance against theEmpire, you agree to help theBlade Phantom with the issues surrounding theNetherworldalong with allowing them to take residence in your body. You have still successfully defeated theBlade Phantom,reaped the rewards, unlocked the achievement"Combative Phantom from the Netherworld",and gained a new ally.
The First Berserker: Khazan
