Elden Ring Nightreign Is Unveiled at The Game Awards

It seems that FromSoftware has no plans to make Elden Ring 2. However, it appears they didn’t want to leave players without a new installment that could further explore the incredible universe this title offers. While there’s no official release date yet, it has been confirmed that 2025 is the chosen year.

The announcement came during a ceremony that stirred controversy with the nomination ofShadow of the Erdtree, an Elden Ring DLC, for Game of the Year (GOTY 2024).

The debut trailer forElden Ring: Nightreignmakes one thing clear: multiplayer will play a bigger role than ever before. While FromSoftware has always emphasized this aspect, cooperative action seems to be a central focus of the gameplay this time.

What we’ve seen so far appears inspired by mods that allowed multiple players to connect simultaneously inElden Ring.

The trailer also highlights an abundance of new traversal mechanics: we see characters scaling walls and, even more impressively, soaring across vast distances with the help of what seems to be an eagle-like creature.

Release Date and Platforms

Along with the reveal, we also have confirmation of the release window and platforms forElden Ring: Nightreign. The game will launch in 2025 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
