In open-world games, more and more people are curious about how big the total play area is when you compare it to something in the real world. If you’re wondering how big Assassin’s Creed Shadows' entire map is, wonder no more, as we now have an answer.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows Entire Map Size Roughly A Quarter Of The Windy City
Thanks to The Nerd Stash, who calculated the Assassin’s Creed Shadows map by creating a rough rectangle housing almost the entire game’s playable space. This is achievable via the game’s waypoint system that allows players to gauge the distance from the farthest possible location of the marker. Per the calculations, it measures approximately 13,000 meters from north to south, while west to east is around 11,000 meters. This gives a total area of 143,000,000 square meters or 143 square kilometers.
That’s around 55 square miles or a quarter of the size of Chicago’s total land area. It might not be super big if you frame it that way, and it pales in comparison to the most enormous Assassin’s Creed map, which is from AC Odyssey. That game had a map size (including the sea) of 256 square kilometers or around 99 square miles.
