Apple hosted an event today where the iPhone 15 was announced, alongside several other devices, such as the Apple Watch Series 9. The event took place at the company’s home in Cupertino. Here is everything you need to know about what Apple announced, including how to rewatch it and what devices the company revealed.

How to rewatch Apple’s September event

Apple streams its events online from the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino. For the last few years, it’s been a pre-recorded stream rather than live, with even the people in the Steve Jobs Theater watching the pre-recorded stream.

Everything announced at the Wonderlust event

Apple’s September event is always packed with announcements, and this one was no exception. Between the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Pro, and Apple Watch models, there’s plenty to get excited about. Here’s a quick rundown of everything Apple showed off at its Wonderlust event in case you didn’t watch it live and don’t feel like going back and watching it after the fact.

Apple iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus

The Apple iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus were shown off at the event, as expected. Apple replaced the notch with the Dynamic Island feature that was introduced with the iPhone 14 Pro models last year.

The phones also received a main camera sensor improvement, with an upgrade to a 48-megapixel sensor. It also received USB-C for charging, which is a major shift.

Apple iPhone 15 Pro also made an appearance at Apple’s event. Going into the event, many claimed it might be joined by the iPhone 15 Ultra rather than the iPhone 15 Pro Max, but those rumours were incorrect. Instead, Apple retained the Pro Max name. The company switched to titanium frames instead of stainless steel, which makes them significantly lighter.

Like the standard models, the iPhone 15 Pro models switched out Lightning for USB-C. It also ditched the silence toggle on the left edge for a programmable action button.

Apple Watch Series 9

The Apple Watch Series 9 followed a similar design to the Watch Series 8, though it offered a new processor called the S9, which Apple promises will deliver significant speed bumps, which we’ll confirm when we get the chance to review the new watch. Apple promises similar battery life with the new models, so those hoping for major improvements will be disappointed.

The same sensors as theSeries 8remain, as do the size offerings. There’s a new gesture that sees you tapping your pointer to your thumb twice to perform lots of actions. Apple Watch Series 9 is Apple’s first carbon-neutral product.

Apple Watch Ultra 2

The Watch Ultra 2 followed a similar design to its predecessor, though it does have a new watch face that offers more information. It has the same processor as the Watch Series 9, which offers some decent speed enhancements and the new gesture. Otherwise, it’s not hugely different from the original Apple Watch Ultra.

Anything else?

There were also reports of anew iMacandMacBook Pro, both running on an M3 chip. We’d also heard reports of theiPad mini 7going into the event, but none of them showed up. It’s thought these devices might be announced at a later date, likely in October.

Apple did quietly announce that it would no longer use leather in any of its cases or Apple Watch bands, which further goes towards its goal of being carbon neutral by 2030.
