In the US, Spotify has introduced the option to view Premium plan prices and discover special promotions directly within the Spotify app for iOS, following a recent ruling in theEpic Games v. Apple legal battlethat allowed them to do so.

You can now request songs with voice commands
When Spotify first launched its AI DJ back in 2023, I thought it looked interesting and gave it a shot. I listened to it once during a road trip and never used it again. After a while, the recommended songs just didn’t resonate anymore, and you couldn’t ask the DJ to play a particular song or music genre. Luckily, that’s finally changing withSpotify’s latest update.
Spotify provided a few examples of requests you can now make to its AI DJ, including “Give me some electronic beats for a midday run” or even “Play me some cry-in-the-car songs,” which are two very distinct vibes yet completely relatable. Now that Spotify’s AI DJ can take music requests, I think it’s worth checking out again.

2Snooze button
Break free from that annoying song
Another feature that Spotify is adding to its app is the Snooze button. When you hit the Snooze button, Spotify will temporarily remove a track from your recommendations for 30 days. So if you’re tired of hearing the same song in your recommended songs repeatedly, but don’t necessarily want to say goodbye to it forever, you can tap the Snooze button, “leaving the door open for a future reunion,” as Spotify puts it.
Spotify is testing the Snooze button for select Premium users at the moment and plans to expand “to more listeners soon.” So if you don’t see the Snooze button yet when playing recommended songs, that’s why. Hopefully, Spotify will roll this out to more users sooner rather than later, as it will be quite handy. I always get the same one or two songs in my recommended songs, and it would be nice to dismiss them without saying goodbye to them entirely.
Additionally, Spotify is updating the Hide button, so now when you tap it, a song in a playlist or album will be hidden across all your devices.

1More access to Audiobooks

Aside from listening to music, audiobooks have become a significant part of the Spotify experience. Premium members have access to a catalog of 250,000 audiobook titles, with 15 hours of audiobook listening time each month. Thanks to the recent ruling in the Epic Games v. Apple legal battle, Apple is being compelled to allow apps in its App Store, such as Spotify, to enable third-party payment methods without taking a hefty commission of 27 percent.
“It helps level the playing field by allowing developers to offer basic pricing information and easy-to-access links to purchase digital goods through iPhones with no unnecessary steps or additional taxes levied by Apple,” Spotifysaid in a statement.
In light of this, Spotify has now submitted another update to its iOS app to the App Store that will allow users to buy individual audiobooks and purchase “Top Up” hours for additional audiobook listening if they exceed the 15 hours a month that Premium members receive. This means if you enjoy listening to audiobooks on Spotify and have an Apple device, your experience is about to improve significantly, with the ability to purchase new audiobooks and acquire more listening hours if needed all through the app. Previously, this could only be done on the Spotify web player.
This update still needs approval from Apple, but Spotify’s last update to add Premium pricing and external links to Premium purchases was already approved, so the audiobooks likely will be as well.
